Ahlers > View looking back to the SE, towards the backside of The Temple. Check out that beautiful high alpine meadow (at 7300'!).
Ahlers > The Twin Sentinels. (Okay, I made that up.) Two nameless (at least on the maps I've seen) towers at the far NNW corner of Edward Peak.
Ahlers > As a stark contrast to the lush meadows covering much of Edward Peak, the far NW corner of it was this barren, almost desert-like football-field sized area.
Ahlers > More nameless features of Edward Peak -- these were on the NE corner.
Ahlers > Even in that desert-like area, small plants were thriving.
Ahlers > View back in the direction of camp (roughly south). From closest to farthest: Cannon Mountain, Enchantment Peak, Little A.
Ahlers > More plants in the super dry section.
Ahlers > Bill enjoys lunch and the view (but not the bugs). The Twin Sentinels stand guard, and Cashmere Mountain is in the background.
Ahlers > Here's a picture of the transition from desert-like dry conditions, to a few more plants, to the lush meadow in the distance, all over the course of about 200 feet.
